What Is a Ball Valve?
A ball valve uses a spherical disc with a hole (or bore) through its centre to control flow. When the valve is open, the bore aligns with the pipeline, allowing full flow. With a simple 90-degree turn, the valve closes completely, blocking the passage. This quick shutoff capability, along with strong resistance to pressure and wear, makes ball valves ideal for high-cycle and high-pressure systems.
